Visual Vlorë Journal: People
View the people of Vlorë, Albania through my photos. I capture 'real life' people in small moments.
When I travel I love to capture locals in their daily life. Street photography feels so invasive and uncomfortable, I give up many opportunities. But it rewards you with extraordinary imagery. I hope these photos honor and celebrate the wonderful people of Vlorë.

Here are some stills that capture small moments in the city of Vlorë.

Locals fishing at sunset
I mostly capture video but snapshot photos show perfectly the moment in time a videos often miss.

Theres a randomness to my photos and I'm interpreting what I see in seconds.

Locals going about there daily lives

The old town area

The port area

Roadside flower sellers

Ahmet Myftar Dede statue area
The accidental photos can often work out better. Sometimes you only spot the hidden person during post processing.

When I got beyond the surface I felt that the Albanians here were generally incredibly warm and kind to me.
As travellers or relocators, it's important to be respectful and show good grace in other nations countires. We need to accept their culture and our impact on the local economies.
When we consider another life abroad, what we're really asking is: What will my new 'ordinary' feel like? Do these pictures make me want to explore and see more?
